Sunday June 5th

He had another great night. I came back to the hospital around midnight and he was wide awake. Lisa, his brother, Alex and I were by his side. He recognized all of us, squeezed our hands, gave us the thumbs up and was moving his lips as though he was trying to say something. Today, he's totally breathing on his own. So far, so good.  Should he continue to breath on his own they'll place an air mask over his trach and turn the machine off. We'll just have to wait and see what today brings us.
